This is the first installment of a series of blog entries that will give you insight into the world of recreational sports at Seneca Recreation Department. The purpose of this blog is to give out information about upcoming events, tournaments, and other happenings at our facilities.
With that being said, let's talk about what's on the horizon for us and our community! First and foremost, we will be hosting two tournaments this summer. From July 17-22, we will host the Dixie Girls State
Tournament in softball. This will be for ages 11-12, 13-15, 16-18. Multiple teams from all over the state will be playing at Seneca, and vying for a chance to play in the Dixie Girls World Series. Secondly, we will for the first time ever play host to the Dixie Boys World Series. This tournament will take place August 1-5 at the Shaver Complex. Eleven state winners and one host team from Seneca, will compete for the title of Dixie Boys World Series Champion. It should be an extremely exciting event, and it's a great honor for us to host such a highly important event. We look forward to this summer and all that it entails.
